Petal is a 3-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix. She is a puppy-mill survivor, rescued and rehabilitated by the ASPCA and sent to us for adoption. Petal is still a timid dog – she had never been exposed to life – and her owners will need to be patient in building her trust. Petal walks nicely on leash and enjoys her walks. She warms up to youand is gentle and sweet. Petal weighs 24 lbs and looks like she might have some Border Collie genes!

Joey is the sweetest boy! He is so sweet that, when a kitten needed a blood transfusion, he donated his blood to save the kitten’s life! Joey came to the MCSPCA after his owner moved to a nursing home. He is as friendly as can be and gives you face kisses and head butts. Joey is a lap cat and gets along great with other cats. Joey has a scar on his left eye from a prior injury, but he doesn’t seem to notice it’s there! Joey is about 6 years young and he would be a perfect pet for any family.

Cassidy is a sweet and petite girl. She loves to play and run around-you’d never guess that she’s 13 years old! Cassidy was pretty grumpy when she first came in, and rightfully so! She needed major dental surgery and was in a lot of pain. Now that her teeth have been treated, Cassidy is much happier and has become a cuddly little kitty!

Kiera is a 2-year-old Shepherd mix who is very sweet and affectionate. She enjoys playing with other dogs. She really loves to be outside, whether running or playing or just lying around. Requirements for AM/PM Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers:
-You have an insured and reliable car
-You are over 21 years old
-You love BOTH dogs and cats
-You are available for both morning and evening visits (Pet sitters only, although this is a bonus for dog walkers!)
-You can make at least a six-month commitment to working with River Run and you are available for both and long short term sits
-You live within a 5 mile radius of the towns listed above (this is beneficial due to commute)
-You are available to work over some major holidays (Don’t worry; you’ll be able to have a holiday too, and you’ll be paid more per visit during this time.)
-You can easily pass a criminal background check
Visits times for DOG sits range from 7-9 am, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Dog visits are 30-45 minutes and the pay rate starts at $10 per visit.
Visits for CAT sits are more flexible and are usually 1-2 times per day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. Cat visits are 30 minutes and the pay rate starts at $10 per visit.
Dog walking hours are 11-2, Monday through Friday. Pay rate starts at $10 per 30 minute visit
Some weeks are busier than others, you will receive more work as business increases.
Pet sit visits are generally for a period of 3-14 days while clients travel. (You’ll provide feeding, walking, plant watering, and mail pickup during your visits.) Hours usually include weekends.
